Throughout the week we will be posting evaluations of 20 players by class (as voted on by Instagram followers) each day culminating with 10 evaluations of 2023s on Friday. This is a look at 10 more players in the 2020 class who I either thought played really well or I haven’t talked much about yet this summer. You can see all of the coverage from this weekend previously posted below.
Kendal Brigham — 5’7 PG — Nebraska Attack UAA 2020 / Wahoo HS (NE)
Brigham is a really quick lead guard who knows how to push the pace of a game. Very controlled with the ball she was making plays all weekend long. Aggressive going to the rim but can also shoot it. A sound decision maker with the ball who passes her teammates open. Under-the-radar player who is going to be a steal at the next level with her aggression.
Kirstin Robbins — 5’8 SG — MN Heat Hinck 2020 / Heritage Christian HS (MN)
Robbins is a player who was really impressive with this first viewing of mine. She’s got a lot of length and knows how to use it on both offense and defense. I really like her ability to attack the rim using her strong base. Good frame with the ability to score the ball and defend. Developing more skill will help her a ton down the road but she is already a really solid player.
Kylie Feuerbach — 5’10 SG/PG — All Iowa Attack EYBL 2020 / Sycamore HS (IL)
The more I think about Feuerbach’s game, the more I like it. Not necessarily with how productive she is, but just how she plays is going to translate to the next level really well. She plays really hard and is always working to make others around her better. She’s also a really good shooter from the outside and can score at the rim really well. A high level player who is going to have an impact early at the next level. Committed to Iowa State University.
Lauren Hauser — 6′ C/PF — Nebraska Attack National 2020 / Grand Island Northwest HS (NE)
Hauser is a skilled and hard-working post who can score the ball really well on the inside. She can stretch it out and nail jumpers from behind the perimeter as well. Will probably be a center at the next level but has the motor to be really good. Tons of skill and would be a steal for the right system. This was my second look at Hauser and I came away really impressed.
Mckenna Minter — 5’7 PG/SG — Nebraska Attack UAA 2020 / Lincoln Northeast HS (NE)
Minter is a crazy good athlete who is the daughter of a former NFL player. She’s so crafty with the ball and can score inside really well. Very fluid going to the rim to score and has a ton of bounce to elevate. Her jumper is coming along and while it still needs work, it is better than when I last saw her in April. She’s a prospect to keep track of and already has a few DI offers.
Nyajuok Taong — 6′ PF — Kingdom Hoops 2020 / Dowling Catholic HS (IA)
Taong was spectacular this weekend when I saw her team play. She’s a threat down low at all times and was super physical. She scored at the rim well and can even step out and knock the midrange shot down. Good control with the ball and doesn’t get rushed with the ball. Good decision making with the ball in her hands allow her to become a dynamic threat on the floor.
Paige Rocca — 5’8 SG — Kingdom Hoops 2020 / Iowa City High HS (IA)
Rocca struggled just a little bit this weekend as she was forced into more of a ball-handling role than usual. It allowed me to really look at how she responded when uncomfortable and I came away impressed. Her shot this weekend wasn’t what it usually was but I thought that she was able to keep a level head. She’s a two-guard at the next level and deadly off of the catch.
Parker Stafford — 6′ PF — Nebraska Attack UAA 2020 / Omaha Marian HS (NE)
Stafford is a very skilled and strong post player who is actually pretty quick and holds the ability to flash out and defend the perimeter at times. Good footwork on the inside allows her to score relatively easily at the rim when in rhythm. Solid touch around the rim and her strength allows her to move smaller players off her back. Good rebounder who goes and gets the ball.
Regan Freland — 5’10 SG/SF — Kingdom Hoops 2020 / PCM HS (IA)
Freland is a versatile player who can slide between the 1-3 spots in the lineup. I think that she is more of an off-ball guard at the next level and her size with allow her to slide to the wing if need be. Freland can handle the ball so she could also play the point guard spot in spurts. She shot the ball really well this weekend and is starting to intrigue me even more with the performance this past weekend.
Shateah Wetering — 5’11 SF — All Iowa Attack EYBL 2020 / Montezuma HS (IA)
Wetering impresses me more and more every time I see her play. She’s one of the most athletic kids in her class and is starting to show a lot more consistency along the perimeter. She is a player who is really good at scoring at the rim but the slick lefty is starting to shoot more consistently on the perimeter. Runs the floor really well in transition to score easy buckets. Committed to Iowa.
