This short list includes players regarded as true bigs. Like other lists I will be sharing, the list below would have been longer had coaches done a better job of including roster information on Tournament Machine or on game score sheets.
Kansas Twisters Center Mekenzie Hefley boxes out on a perimeter shot.Players are listed in descending order by year and then alphabetically by last name.
Mekenzie Hefley, 6’0″, C, 2020, Kansas Twisters – Hutchinson. A solid developing big who did not get overpowered inside. She showed a good inside spin move to finish with her left and generally score inside in a variety of ways. She showed speed enough to beat beat most opposing bigs down the floor in transition. Needs to improve her ability to defend bigs with a good mid-range game and otherwise improve her quickness.
Jenna Harvey, 6’2″, C, 2021, Khaos – Baldwin. Has a big build and catches the ball well in the high-low game.
Khaos’ Jenna Harvey awaits her guards to dictate action.Emilee Lane, 6’1″, C, 2022, Twin Lakes Stars – Thomas Moore Prep-Marian. Mid-Continent League Volleyball unanimous first team all-league. Ball skills to get to the lane off the dribble. Long, solid build.
Meredith Mayes, 6’1″, C, 2023, OKPWP 2023 – Bixby (OK). Good passer on a team that passes often and well. Good strength with effective use of a spin move inside.
Alyssa Nielsen, 5’10”, F, 2023, OKPWP 2023 – Bixby (OK). Quick ups after offensive rebounds. Runs the floor well and has a good interior spin move.
