About Lexi:
What inspired you to start playing basketball?
“My big brother inspired me to play basketball. At a very young age, around 4 years old, I was always trying to keep up with him in the game. I was as a kid and I still am a very competitive person to this day.”
What aspect of your game do you love the most?
“My defense, definitely! Sometimes I am not a big impact on the offensive end, but defensively I do my part through steals, rebounds, and creating turnovers. Someone may be bigger or faster, but they’re not going to out work or hustle more than me on the court. I play with no fear, so no one intimidates me.”
What are your plans for basketball in your future?
“I would like to continue my career at the next level. It’s been a goal of mine to play D1 basketball for a long time. However, I also want to be a doctor, so i’m not sure how those two ambitions will mesh well together. Hopefully they’re both in God’s plan for me.”
What is most memorable moment of your high school season?
“My most memorable moment is winning the state championship with my team. I’ve been told it is very hard to go through the playoffs perfect, but we did it! Not to mention we were counted out by many, beat the odds, and won in the hardest class to do it in.”
What is your favorite thing to work on in the game of basketball?
My favorite thing to work on is ball handling. It’s something I enjoy in practices. Although I may not handle the ball that much in games, I can handle it well and I am secretly a PG at heart.
