Prospect Spotlight: Madison Skelton (2021)
There are a ton of very good guards in Kansas’ 2021 class. One of the top players is a 5’8 point guard from St. Thomas Aquinas. Madison Skelton is our 10th ranked player in the state and is starting to see her hard work on the floor pay off. Skelton has been receiving interest from multiple Missouri Valley schools and a couple Division II schools. She’s a very fluid guard and is loaded with potential.
Across the board Skelton is a strong player. She can shoot it, pass it, handle it, and score the ball at a high rate. One of the best things about her game is that she doesn’t get sped up and plays with a ton of composure. I love the tenacity that she plays with and is going to be a very heralded player at the next level. This past high school season was one for the books as she won a state championship. Skelton is running with Next Level Eclipse BlueStar this summer and is having a fantastic season.
“I am with Next Level Eclipse BlueStar which is a new team for me so I am still learning,” Skelton said. “I am working on getting stronger and faster and working on my shot. I would love to go to as many camps as I can and improve my game this summer.”
Skelton is enjoying the recruiting process and being a sought after sophomore has its perks. She is a very confident player and that shows on the floor. Very quick player with ability to play good defense and push the ball in transition. A future college is going to really enjoy her services.
“The recruiting process is going great for just being a sophomore,” Skelton said. “It’s sometimes stressful but I am just trying to enjoy it and have fun, nothing like coming home to college letters waiting for you.”
