Sabino
Sabino looked like they could beat any team in state today. They took down 6A powerhouse, Pinnacle and Xavier. This made a huge impression on me because they are a small 3A school going up against big time 6A programs. The usual narrative is that 6A schools are always the best but this is not the case. Sabino can hang with anyone in state due to their excellent star trio of Kiya Dorroh, Kamryn Doty, and Kam Rhodes. They also have an excellent role player in Kadie Healy.
Pinnacle
Pinnacle was without their star center, Kennedy Basham. However, the team ran smoothly without one of their top players. Ally Stedman ran the show and kept pushing her teammates. She got the most out of those girls and she led the way in scoring. Stedman knocked down shot after shot and looked like she could not be stopped. The team played so fast, quickly getting up and down the floor.
Perry
Perry was missing a couple of players as well but they had their dynamic duo of Tatyanna Clayburne and Madison Conner. Both of these girls can shoot the lights out and score at will. I think Conner is one of the best pure scorers in the state. She can shoot it and get to the cup whenever she wants. She has a really good feel for the game and has a high IQ.
Seton Catholic
SC has so much potential! Between Amanda Barcello, Isabella DiGiovanni, Lexi McNabb, and Sasha Daniels, they have as much young talent as anyone. However, they never come together at the same time, meaning one player will take over and the other 3 seem to watch, then the next girl comes up. Barcello will go on a run, then McNabb will, then DiGiovanni will, etc. It is going to be scary whenever these 4 mesh together and all get going at once.
