I was able to drop in at the Turf Wars Summer League and saw some terrific talent and teams both high school and AAU getting ready for July’s viewing period. Most of the teams looked polished and others were working out the kinks or looking to develop some of their younger players. These are the perimeter players that stood out during the day.
Sammera Smith – Team Sol – 2022
Team Sol struggled but Smith was a bright spot scoring a team high 12 points and netting 5 boards in the loss to Team Takeover. The three pointer wasn’t falling for her but she worked well in the mid range hitting the short jumpers and getting to the basket.
Page Greenburg – Team Takeover – 2022
Page GreenburgPage was the most efficient player of the day shooting 80% from the field and 66% from the three. She had a game high 16 points and also added 5 boards. Page has a high IQ and is crafty at finding gaps to get to the basket. Her shooting ability makes her tough for defenders to contain.
Dasia Townes – Maryland Lady Terps – 2020
Dasia TownesDasia is one of the most improved players over the past few years and has emerged as one of the top all around players in the region as she gets set to begin her senior year. She scored a game high 19 points and was a terror defensively logging three steals.
Skylar Treadwell – Maryland Lady Terps – 2020
Skylar went 50% from the field and from beyond the arc in scoring 17 her points. She was two boards shy of a double-double with a game leading 8 boards. The Seton Hall commit looked great playing well on both ends of the floor. She showed that she can score while sharing the ball.
Kennedy Fauntleroy – New Hope – 2022
Kennedy FauntleroyNew Hope showed a sneak peak of their high school team for the 2019-20 season and the addition of Kennedy Fauntleroy (previously Rock Creek Academy). Kennedy led the defense and had game highs of six steals and three assists.
