Many times post and wing/forwards don’t get the recognition that they deserve but, they have stepped up at the Turf Wars Summer League. Here are some of the top players that showed today.
Farrah Duvall – Team Sol – 2021
Farrah was strong down low. She uses her body well to take up space in the lane gaining an advantage on the offensive boards. She is a good finisher in the paint.
Deja Bristol – New Hope – 2020
Deja was the best post player in the building today scoring in the post after contact. She scored 14 points and added 6 boards both game highs in only 18 minutes of play. She has good hands and is a good finisher around the basket.
Elze Motekailtyte – New Hope – 2020
Elze had the size at 6’3 to be effective down low but her threat on the perimeter gives her an edge over other players her size. She shot 66% from the three in the win against PG Liberty and showed a nice form on her shot and a quick release.
Gianni Boone – Team Sol – 2022
Gianni BooneGianni shot the ball well knocking down three 3-pointers. Her length was disruptive in blocking and altering shots in the lane. She is starting to get more comfortable handling the ball look for her to migrate to the wing this upcoming season.
Taylor Webster – Maryland Lady Terps – 2020
Taylor WebsterTaylor is more of a wing but used her size to guard posts on the defensive end as her team didn’t have a true post player. She did well with her back to the basket and was able to turn and face using her speed to get past opposing post players.
