Continue ReadingI still remember Jada Malone watching her older sister play ball and me buying Girl Scout cookies from her and she loves to tease me nowadays telling me she forgot them. I tweeted earlier that now, every major college is scouting this young lady and with several offers from D1 programs already on the table, the 6’4 Malone keeps adding to her impressive game. She is one of many standouts that performed extremely well at Super 64
Jada Malone-6’4 PF (Cy Fair Premier National) The Village School- that old saying “you can’t teach size” was given an amendment by me years ago “when you can play” and Malone has gone from a back to the basket player that can also attack from the wing and stretch the defense from outside. She can be overpowering on the inside on both sides of the court, the biggest takeaway is as good as she is #BCSLock, she isn’t finished and still has a lot of upside
Rori Harmon-5’6 PG (Cy Fair Premier National) Cy Creek HS- add her to the elementary school players I said were #D1Locks when she was around 10 years old and nothing she does or will do will surprise me because she can take over a game offensively with offensive weapons galore, attacking or mid to long range, but she also gets it as far as understanding how to make those around her better, btw she’s #BCSLock now
Raven Adams-5’4 PG (Texas Elite Burroughs) Ridgepoint HS- yet another 4th or 5th grader that just left me speechless when I first saw her yet I’ve found numerous things to say about her over the years including offers from numerous mid-majors because the game has and will always start with the one. She runs a team with precision, controlling the tempo whichever way it needs to go, and her pinpoint passes on the money are one of the reasons she’ll be an even better college player plus she can hit the mid to long range with ease
Evie GoetzEvie Goetz-6’0 F (HG Elite Watts) Marcus HS- I have so many different symbols and colors by her name that I probably could put together a flag yet watching her heat up and go off has defenders waving a white flag at times. She’s long, athletic and can just flat out shoot the ball, mid to long range, effortlessly and accurately. Nice pull up in transition gives her options because she can take defenders off the dribble and on top of all of that, she defends inside and outside
Jermia Green-5’7 PG (Houston Lady Roadrunners) Clear Springs HS- strong and overpowering from the one is always good and I’ve watched her over the years keep adding to her game. Quick release from anywhere on the outside, attacks the basket relentlessly over and over and she pushes herself baseline to baseline bringing heat both ways. She loves contact and showed she was an “and one” waiting to happen
AJ Mariotte-6’0 SG (Texas Elite Prime) Vista Ridge- I love big guards that can shoot but more importantly, so do college coaches and this young lady can fill it up. Nice release, she can score with defenders hanging on her and watching her connect on 4 point opportunities numerous times gives you somewhat of a picture. Another version has her mixing it up by driving to the basket but it’s sort of like pick your poison because you can blink and she has double digits
Jordyn Newsome-5’8 COMBO (HG Elite Watts) Irving Macarthur HS- continues to elevate her game as well as elevate over defenders but let me throw this in here. When you have a devastating first step that enables you to blow by defenders and you have range from a different stratosphere, you’re going to be hard to handle and when you talk about “lives for the pressure” well she wants the shot in crunch time and delivered over and over
Tymberlin Criswell–5’7 G (Texas Elite Chuck 2020) The Village HS- wrote this about her in the 6th or 7th grade “she loves being in the heat and is already learning how to take over in crunch time. Loves reading the defense as well as contact and her back to back and ones simply changed the momentum in one game” with that being said, extended range, acrobatic finishes and just brings “it” continuously and always remember when I call it, it’s a done deal as she has numerous offers on the table
Bria McClure-5’6 PG (SA Finest Dungee) Steele HS- right HS name because the homonym is what colleges will be getting as well as what she does on defense. I’m afraid to turn my head when she has the ball because over the past 3 years she’s shown me that she’s a highlight waiting to happen. Range from every spot on the court, accelerates with the ball and plays with so much energy that it trickles down to teammates
Zoe Nelson-6’0 F (Austin Elite RFW) Hendrickson HS- size, college ready body and can play all five positions should grab your attention immediately and watching the sidelines of wall to wall coaches, she definitely has theirs. Nelson can shoot the three, the mid, attack the rim, handle the ball in the open court, under pressure, pass off the dribble rebound on both ends, defend inside and outside and the uncanny part is that she still has upside and with her desire, watch out
Ashlyn Jones-6’0 F (Houston Skyrise Edmond) Klein Oak HS- the first time I saw her the athleticism stood out and she took a nasty hit and had to come out late in the game and 30 seconds later, she’s back in and nails a 3 to win it. That was 4 or 5 years ago and needless to say watching her glide through the years has been something to see as she just goes right at defenders. That pull-up is special, she’s long and gets her shot off whenever against whomever
