Each of these prospects may have played at a different level (Platinum, Gold, Silver, 15u, etc.) but they project as solid players that colleges will take a strong look at.
2022 5’10 PG Gabriela Jaquez (Troop West Black/CA) – One of my favorite guards out of the 2022 class in California. Gabriela plays up in the 17u Platinum division and more than holds her own. She has a slick handle and can handle pressure with ease. At 5’10, she has great size and length to play the PG position at a variety of D1 schools. A clear Division 1 prospect.
2022 5’10 SF Mckenna Reggear (NW Blazers Sparks/WA) – One of the most physically tough players from the 15u division. Mckenna is a good catch and shoot three point shooter, but she also plays lock down defense and competes on every rebound/loose ball. She will be a solid pickup for some college program when the time comes.
2022 5’10 W Zahirah Walton (NW Greyhounds/WA) – I recently highlighted “Zaza” and she was really a big standout in her class at nationals. Zaza has a long frame with great natural instincts as a wing player. She has potential as a shooter, although she’d rather drive to the paint at this stage of her career. Legit D1 prospect.
2023 6’4 W/F Olivia Anderson (NW Blazers Sparks) – Long and agile wing-forward type player that can guard multiple positions. She also has a soft touch out to 17 feet. As she continues to learn how to play with extra physicality, the sky is the limit.
2023 5’5 G Malia Samuels (NW Greyhounds/WA) – Smaller and strong point guard that impacted the game on both ends of the ball. Malia has the greenlight from three on her team and she shot it with confidence, even in transition sometimes. She has some “pitbull” to her, which will suit her well moving forward.
2022 6’0 SF Naomi Hall-Schiffner (NW Blazers Sparks/WA) – Super standout from the tourney! Naomi showed the ability to catch fire from three and she has a developing post game versus mismatches inside. She also has potential on the defensive end with her length and improving physicality. D1 prospect to watch moving forward.
