They’ve played their last Spring, they’re entering the second half of their final July, and they’ll be beginning their Senior years very soon. As we recently updated our player rankings, I wanted to take the time to touch on each position group one by one. This collection of Point Guards doesn’t have the pizzazz of any High-Major Division-I prospects at the top, but there are several really nice lead guards throughout our rankings. With that said, here’s a look at the Top-25 Point Guard prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2020.

Dash Shaw of Gary West Side Leadership Academy continues to lead the pack. She is a quick/fast, athletic, explosive scoring point guard. She can make shots outside, finish with a variety of pull-ups and off-balance shots, or get all the way to the basket to score. She’s a capable distributor as well, and she has the tools to be a really nice defensive player. She averaged more than 23 points per game during the 2018-2019 season, and she should again be around that mark this coming season..
Brownsburg High School’s Allison Bosse started out July with a couple of really nice performances against good competition at the USJN Premier Showcase. She’s a strong, tough-nosed, physical, and athletic combo guard who plays with a great deal of versatility. She does a nice job of taking care of the basketball and running offense, she’s a good shooter at all levels, and she can finish around the basket. Defensively, she can take on multiple types of guards.
One player who could be easy to overlook because she doesn’t play grassroots basketball is Leah Miller of Salem High School. Leah is a strong, skilled, tough-nosed, and aggressive combo guard. She has very good touch from the perimeter with range well beyond the line, she is strong straight-line to the basket, and she’s a really good rebounder at her position. She has sort of that small school craftiness to her game, and she often outplays her matchup with both effort and intelligence.
Molly Ream of Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger High School is one of the least known prospects in Indiana, but she has caught the attention of at least a couple of small colleges recently. She is a fairly quick and athletic traditional lead guard, to the point that she’s almost too unselfish at times. She plays with a very good motor, she has a nice handle and good instincts for the position, and she can defend as well. I really like her cerebral approach to the game, but I’d like to see her be just a bit more aggressive offensively.
One player who has been good early this July, and who might move up the next time we update our rankings, is Kiara Gill of Carmel High School. She’s a strong, very athletic guard who is just starting to come into her own. She played quality minutes for Carmel this past season, and she does a really nice job of taking care of the ball offensively, plus she really hounds opposing ball-handlers defensively. She brings a lot of intangible value to a lineup, and once she proves to score it consistently, her stock will continue to rise.
