Insider Exposure Hoosier Heat Super Tandems
One of the best non-shoe affiliated events of the summer took place in Indianapolis this last week at the Hoosier Heat tourney. Director John McGraw really went out and got some of the most competitive teams in the country of all age levels and pitted them against one another, ultimately drawing hundreds of college coaches. Many of the teams in the event had more than one big time player, so I decided to break down some of the top tandems from the event.
Hoosier Heat Super Tandems:
Example Sports Wolfpack (Illinois)
2021 6’1 SF Annaliese Griffin (Example Sports Wolfpack/IL) – Strong body that can really finish through contact in the post. Griffin plays a physical brand of basketball and showed good competitive fire. She has enough mobility to play some inside-out game, but looked very comfortable around the basket on both sides of the ball.
2021 6’2 PF Grace Hall (Example Sports Wolfpack/IL) – One of the most intriguing prospects I saw in the Hoosier Heat with her mixture of size, strength, athleticism and skill. She has a nice mid-range jump shot at 6’2 and is an absolute play maker when she is on the floor. High major Division 1 recruit. *Feature image
FGB Team Ladazhia Williams 15u UAA (Florida)
2022 6’5 C Kyla Abraham (FGB 15u UAA) – Hands down one of the best 2022 prospects at the Hoosier Heat. Kyla runs the floor with ease and provides a great shot blocking presence. She has a strong frame and gets off the floor well finishing around the basket. A high major recruit with pro potential with continued development and passion for the game.
2022 5’8 SG Avery Cannon (FGB 15u UAA) – “Cannon” is a fitting name for the rising sophomore, as she was one of the best shooters are the 15u level. She can hit the three ball from very deep and she showed the ability to get to the mid-range and stroke it as well. Avery is a good floor balancer and fits into the team concept well with her basketball IQ.
Team Knight 16u (Florida)
2022 6’1 SF Mya Kone (Team Knight 16u) – Unbelievable length and athleticism for an incoming sophomore or any high school player for that matter. The lefty wing gets off the floor with ease and showed some confidence shooting the three. She has tools that cannot be taught, making her a clear Division 1 recruit.
2022 6’0 PF Zaria Blake (Team Knight 16u) – Another hybrid athlete out of Florida. Zaria runs the floor like a gazelle and is a game changer on the defensive end. Zaria’s offensive skill set will have to continue to develop, but she has Division 1 written all over her.
