Jackson County, located in South Central Ohio, is named for Andrew Jackson – hero of the War of 1812 and the 7th President of the United States of America. Each September, Jackson County holds its annual apple festival – which has included the Budweiser Clydesdales and The Ohio State University Marching Band. Once the festival ends, basketball season arrives and Jackson County has some outstanding players to watch.
Let’s take a look at a number of talented underclassmen from Jackson County.

Oak Hill has had a number of outstanding girls basketball players and Caitlyn Brisker has done more than enough to establish herself as one of the all-time greats. The multi-sport standout and All-Ohioan has already scored over 1000 career points. She has good length and a smooth stoke from the perimeter – where she has good range in catch-and-shoot situations. Caitlyn has the potential for an absolutely huge senior season scoring the basketball, as she also does an outstanding job of getting to the rim.
Chloe Chambers – 6’0 Post – Oak Hill – Class of 2022
Chambers did not put up huge numbers during her freshman season – only averaging 7 points per contest – but the post player did burst onto the scene and show why she was an all-district selection in her initial high school campaign. A double-double machine in the making, she is a good screener who rolls hard to the rim and rebounds at a high rate. The future is bright for Chloe at Oak Hill.
Payton Crabtree – 5’5 Guard – Oak Hill – Class of 2020
Crabtree is an experienced combo-guard with a quick first step and a variety of finishing moves that she goes to, including floaters, runners and pull-up jumpers. She is strong, which helps her finish through contact. Payton also has a quick release and effortless form on her perimeter jumper. She is a good passer who creates scoring opportunities for her teammates.

Webb is a very quick guard who ran the show for Jackson from her point guard position as a freshman. She is a good 3-point shooter who also possesses an outstanding pull-up game. Katelyn has quick hands defensively and gets a number of steals from larger ball-handlers when they expose the ball.
