The problem with that is some of the teams were staying another few days to attend the next event we will talk about and that is the Ballin in the Ballroom in Lake Mead, Nevada at the Westin Hotel. Coaches words were, there will be a lot of lap over, meaning that most of the teams they watched at the Las Vegas Showcase will also be playing in the Ballin in the Ballroom. With that said, we continued to get our last day of evaluations in and get ready to attend the Ballin in the Ballroom event on Wednesday afternoon. Here is what we saw on Wednesday at the Las Vegas Showcase.
We witnessed a lot of basketball in these three days with two events going on almost at the same time, but we were still able to get in some quality basketball under one roof at the Tarkanian Basketball Academy facility. We watched the 602LadyNation (AZ) play NIke Team Northwest 16U (OR) in their final game of the Las Vegas Showcase, highlighting some good players in 2020 UNLV commit, Jasmine Singleton, 2020, CG, Brooke Rodgers, 2020, PF, Dyamond Butler-Worley and a cast of others on this team, who we were quite impressed with.
Cal Storm EYBL 16U (CA) was impressive, the coach played the girls in a platoon fashion as we watched them play all tournament in Vegas. The kids that impressed me were the following 2021, 5’4, PG, Palisades Charter HS, Alexis Pettis, 2023, 5’10, PG, Ontario Christian MS, Chloe Briggs and 2021, 6’3, PF, La Quinta HS, Emma Svoboda.
Tree of Hope 17U (ID) kept us intrigued all tournament, they were surprise of the tournament, with the personnel they brought to compete with the other tough teams on the circuit. The kids that impressed us were the following: 2020, 6’1, PF, Timberline HS (ID), Katie Walsh, 2020, 5’11, PG, Emmett HS (ID), Gemma LaVergne and 2020, 5’10, PF. Centennial HS (ID), Caitlyn McMurray
All of these players were standouts to us as we watched on the third day of the Las Vegas Showcase and then we would end the day watching kids play at the Ballin in the Ballroom in Lake Mead. Some of these names are newcomers, but we tried to give it a simple mix of old and younger players to quench your thirst for basketball stories. Hope you enjoyed this article and will come back often to read the stories we come up with on this site. Great event put on by the Cal Storm. Appreciate you George….
