At the top of the list you have the Iowa State commit, Aubrey Joens. Joens is a dominant scorer capable of getting to the rim or shooting the ball from the perimeter. She’s a good all-around athlete and has the ability to take over a game scoring the basketball. In the overall rankings Joens is ranked second in the state just behind Caitlin Clark. Emerson Green sits in second on the list as she is a tall and lengthy guard capable of both handling the ball and scoring it. She has committed to Northern Iowa and will be playing an off-ball scoring role as the recruiting class dictates. She’s in that next tier right behind the four players at the top of the overall rankings. Kayba Laube is right behind Green in both the overall rankings and the positional rankings. She will also be heading to Northern Iowa and is one of the best shooters in the state regardless of class. I don’t think there is someone else in the state that I would want to take a game winning shot for my team. She’s starting to also get to the basket more and finish which makes her even more dangerous.
Outside of the top ten, I think that Lauren Conrey has the best chance to move up the quickest. She’s a very solid combo guard who can shoot it really well. Conrey has a good feel for the game and a lot of skill, I just want to see her start to do more. She has the ability to get to the rim and play dynamically but it just hasn’t shown quite yet consistently. I think she’s going to be a very solid player at the next level once she does start to show more of that aggression.
