Team Pressure |
This is a very deep position in Iowa as their are 40 small forwards in our Top 125. At the very top you’ll find Grace Larkins, who is the top player in the class regardless of position. She’s a versatile athlete who has show a lot of improvement over the summer already. This upcoming high school season we will be able to see her take over Southeast Polk with the graduation of Maggie McGraw. Right behind Larkins is Audrey Koch, a combo wing who has really improved over the last year. Koch sits at #3 in the 2021 rankings update and Riley Wright is right behind her at #4 overall. Wright is the highest ranked committed player in the class as she just pledged to Northern Iowa. Rounding out the top ten overall, Ella Van Weelden sits at #9 overall. She’s a very good competitor and plays like a coach on the floor. She has a couple of things to improve on but could rise up pretty quickly.
Outside of the top ten, I am going to go way down the list as I think Kiersten Baker could really rocket up in the next update. She needs to improve her mobility but she has a really solid basketball IQ with the ability to score the ball on the drive or in the midrange. Over the next few weeks I’ll be looking to see her defense improve as well and if that happens, I’ll have no problem moving her up.
