Premier Basketball War Games Midwest Recap
Premier Basketball partnered with FBC to run the War Games Midwest showcase on July 9th at Best Choice Fieldhouse in Indiana. This event featured some of the top teams from adidas and Under Armour, as each shoe circuit would start their session the following day. Each team played in a single showcase game and every court had a good amount of college coaches present from the Big East, Pac-12, SEC, ACC and more.
Headliners:
FBC United Hunt was the top headline of this event, coming into the showcase with just one loss the entire year. The Under Armour program features 2020 6’2 SG Treasure Hunt, 2020 6’8 C Kamilla Cardosa and a handful of other 3-5 star recruits. FBC had the most height out of any club team I have seen this season and their half court zone is difficult to score on. FBC would go on to win their matchup with ease by 25 plus.
Colorado Basketball Club (CBC) of the adidas Gauntlet had a big matchup with former adidas and current Under Armour program, Arkansas Banshees. CBC’s back court of 2021 5’9 G Payton Muma and 2020 5’7 PG Jana Vangytenbeek (Stanford commit) proved to be too much for the Banshees.
Northwest Blazers Orange was another headlining team and got out to a quick and early lead over Lewandowski’s Western PA Bruins 2020 team. The Blazers would let the Bruins back into the game in the last 2 minutes, but would ultimately hold on. 2020 5’11 G Jayda Noble has made her case for being a top 50 player nationally and gotten it done versus just about every high level team she has played against. Offensive stats and highlights get a lot of the attention, but her defense and rebounding is as good as any guard in the country.
Notable colleges in attendance:
UCONN, Washington, Butler, UCLA, Fresno State, Washington State, New Mexico, Duke, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and more.
