Jackson is a 5’10” wing in the class of 2020. She attends Flat Rock High School and plays grassroots basketball with The Factory.
Jackson has a nice skill set on the court. It’s easy to tell that running cross country has helped put her in great physical condition. She can stay on the floor for long periods of time. Jackson doesn’t get tired and she continues to bring energy to the floor for long periods. She is right handed, but is skilled with her left as well. Jackson can put the ball on the floor and is confident enough to go either way. She is a solid shooter that has 3 point range. Jackson is smart with the jumper as well. She recognizes good shots which helps her shoot at a high percentage.
Amy Jackson knows that the development of her game and gaining experience are key to her overall growth as a player. She is working to improve her passing. Jackson would like to become more of a threat dishing off to shooters or dumping the ball to open teammates off the dribble drive. She’s become a veteran high school player. Jackson’s best moment in basketball was during her sophomore year against local rival Airport. She led her team to a win by going 4-4 from beyond the arc and scoring a career high 19 points. Jackson is looking forward to the experience of traveling to Atlanta with her grassroots team, The Factory.
Jackson has goals both on and off the court. She hopes to play basketball in college and possibly earn a scholarship. Off the court, Jackson wants to figure out her career path. She loves animals and has an interest in the medical field. While nothing is set in stone, this combination of interests has her leaning towards studying to become a veterinarian.
Amy Jackson is just beginning the recruiting process. It should be just a matter of time before more coaches take notice of her game. She’s had a couple coaches at the next level speak with her and has received invites to open gyms. Jackson has a lot to offer a college program. She will bring energy and hustle every second that she’s on the floor. This applies to practice as well as games.
