The USJN 15u Championships has a combination of 12u-16u teams competing in multiple brackets as it also ran parallel to the Blue Star Nationals. Some middle school players got to play up and compete against some of the top rising seniors from all over the country. College coaches were in the building trying to scout for their long term future. Here are some of the standout players that competed in this four day event.
Standout Players:
PARKER HILL – 6’4″ – POST – FAIRFAX STARS 16 EYBL – 2021
Parker HillParker was pretty much unstoppable once she got position in the low block. She is a good passer from the post which discourages help defenders. She has a wide array of moves with the ball in her hands and has perfected the up and under as her weapon of choice. She was a big reason that the Fairfax Stars were in the championship game.
SAMEERA SMITH – 5’4″ – POINT GUARD – TEAM SOL – 2022
Sameera SmithSmith was on a role attacking and getting down hill against her defender. She made good use of her crossover dribble and repeatedly got to the basket for layups and fouls. She was good from the line giving her multiple 20 point plus games.
JENESIS MASSENBURG – 5’4″ – POINT GUARD – TEAM EXCEL – 2022
Jenesis MassenburgJenesis is pure speed with the ball in her hands. She is a good passer and has nice vision. She is really hard to stay in front of as a defender because she is so quick and her moves are a little unconventional that it keeps the defenders off balance.
SAVANNAH BROOKS – 5’8″ – WING – MID ATLANTIC LEGACY 16 – 2022
Savannah BrooksSavannah drives well and has good footwork in the lane. She has good control of her body on the move and a nice touch around the basket. She is a really good passer as well.
ERIN MILLER – 6’1″ – FORWARD – POWERMOVE 12 – 2025
Erin MillerErin has the physique of a high school senior and is only a 7th grader. She is a strong rebounder and can dribble the ball pretty well. She finishes at the rim and has the vision to find open players when dribbling up the court under pressure. Her potential ceiling is off the charts.
CACH’E WILSON – 5’6″ – POINT GUARD – MARYLAND LADY TIGERS 17 BSTT – 2020
Cach’e WilsonCach’e sports her signature bandage under the right eye and comes ready to work every game. She is a really good passer and is very unselfish despite her ability to score on her own. She pushes the ball up court quickly and gets her team set early in the shot clock*.
