As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Girls Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class
Nelah Davis, 5’7, G, 2020, Olpe
An all-around player who is smart with the ball and looks to push the tempo when she can. She’s an active player who can rebound for steals and looks to contest shots. she can create for sale and can knock down shots inside and out. She can get around opponents and is smart at using her frame to her advantage.
Maggie Knoblauch, 5’4, G, 2020, Andale
A do everything guard who can score, pass and rebound well for her size. She doesn’t let her heights stand in the way of her contributing solid minutes on the floor as she is active in every department you could ask for. She finds the open teammate and out rebounds players taller than her. She is quick on her feet and can handle transition play.
Tianna Lohse, 5’8, G, 2020, Hanover
A smart player with the ball in her hands. Lohse has a good feel for the ball in can work well in any situation and can find her shot whenever she needs to. She passes well and is good in transition and can absorb contact well around the basket. She has good size and bring strength and intensity to the floor. She that works your opponent and is a solid defensive player with quick hands.
Madison Ruda, 5’9, G, 2020, Holcomb
A player who is forced to play big on defense and can handle herself well against taller opponents. She is a strong player with good speed and impressive handles. She can grab a rebound and go Coast-to-Coast and finish on the other end. She scores well and is a good passer and creative player on the move.
Meg Friday, 5’7, G, 2020, Hutchinson Trinity
A multiple-sport athlete who brings understanding and athleticism to the floor. She has good speed and is aggressive and versatile on both ends. She stays with the ball and has solid quickness on defense. She can handle the balsam and can score from distance and the mid-range area when she’s comfortable and has an open look.
