The PG’s of 2020 are a talented group all around and many of them will find themselves playing at the collegiate level a year from now. Some are already committed to the Division 1 level, but there are some potentially impactful next level players that remain available.
The Second Best PG in the Country:
5’7 Hailey Van Lith has earned every award and accomplishment to date. She has multiple Gold medals to her name and every college in the country wants her talents. Paige Bueckers is widely considered the best point guard in the country, but Hailey is without a doubt the most fiery and competitive player the 2020 class has to offer. She has college-ready strength and handle right now, with another year of high school left to play. In her final season, she will look to lead Cashmere to its first 1A State Championship title.
Size and Skill:
Elizabeth (Ellie) Boni brings a lot of skill in a frame right around 5’9 or 10. She can handle the ball versus pressure, she is a solid passer and she shoots the ball at a pretty high rate. She had a very strong month of July with Tree of Hope and committed to Colorado State in the process. Ellie has one last chance to lead University High to the Tacoma Dome for the state tournament.
Talented and Uncommitted:
5’7 Daylani (Dayla) Ballena is one of the top available point guards in the northwest. Some different D1 schools on the west coast have been involved with Dayla, but she is still open at this point. Dayla is a crafty ball handler and really improved her deep three ball this summer, adding to her arsenal. She would be a good pickup for any program in need of a team player that can create for herself as well.
Boise State Snags Another WA Player:
Washington has been good to Boise State in their recruitment over the years. They have recruited players from multiple club programs in the region and it has paid off for them. 5’7 Raigan Reed is the latest prospect to commit to Boise State and they found themselves another skilled player with a hint of flash. Boise State guards Jade Loville and Jayde Christopher are players with some similarities in their skill set that hail from the Evergreen State. Raigan can score in transition, handle pressure and shoot the deep three with ease. Lake Stevens has high expectations this high school season and Raigan should be able to lead them to the Tacoma Dome with the talent they have on paper. *Feature image
Big Transfer Coming to Mead:
5’8 Joelnell Momberg is a household name in the state of Montana, where she won a couple state championships and was a top level performer for multiple years. Momberg is a super skilled player with a good amount of flare to her game. Mead returns a crew of strong, young players from a year ago, but Joelnell and her younger sister should take Mead over the top if things go as planned. Joelnell is committed to Montana for college.
Other PG’s to Know:
5’8 Kara Choi (Bellevue HS)
5’8 Kareyna Taylor
5’6 Hailey Marlow (West Valley HS/SPU Commit)
5’5 Hemani Kalia (Nathan Hale HS)
5’4 Mia Flores (Ridge River HS)
5’6 Callie Stevens (Bellarmine Prep/LC-State Commit)
5’4 Allison Corral (Prairie HS)
