Here is the longer list of shooting guards to know about in Washington’s 2021 class:
5’11 SG Talia von Oelhoffen (Chiawana HS) – Elite scorer at all three levels
6’1 SG Haley Huard (Eastlake HS) – Catch and shoot three point shooter
5’8 SG Delaney Pink (Chiawana HS) – Quick defender and catch and shoot threat
5’8 SG Joclyen Wyatt (Wilson HS) – Downhill player with scoring mindset
5’9 SG Jane Cosmos (Overlake HS) – One of the most electric athletes in the state
5’8 SG Maya Erling (Glacier Peak HS) – Crafty and skilled off-guard with nice pull up jumper *Feature image
5’6 SG Shaunice Reed (Franklin HS) – Aggressive scorer with strong frame
5’8 SG Claire Gallagher (King’s HS) – Good catch and shoot three pointer
5’10 SG Isabella Reed (Inglemoor HS) – Hard working guard/wing with solid skill set
Most athletic?
Jane Cosmos gets the nod here when you combine her next level speed and great leaping ability. She had multiple high school games where she had 10 plus steals and this is the result of her great instincts on the floor and next level quickness. Jocylen Wyatt has some burst to her game as well and she can get down the court fast with or without the ball in her hands.
Most crafty?
Maya Erling really shows some creativity when she plays the game and it may not be on the level of von Oelhoffen’s, but she makes plays that many other girls do not even think to try.
High ceiling?
Haley Huard is really only scratching the surface of her potential and her best basketball is definitely ahead of her. She has just now started to fill out and as she gains strength, it will allow her to do more things on the floor. She should have a strong high school season and head into next spring as a much more confident player than she even is today.
Stock riser:
Delaney Pink really saw her recruitment take a jump this spring and summer. She has been on visits to multiple D1 schools now and they are really showing some serious interest. Montana, Cal Poly and Army are three schools of interest.
