As the summer winds to a close and the start high school basketball regular season right around the corner, there’s still a few camps being held that showcase some of the best high school basketball talent in California and some of the surrounding areas.

This weekend, Santiago High School in Corona, CA was host the Elite Girls Basketball Elite 100 camp. The camp featured some of the top local girls basketball talent from the Class of 2020 all the way through to the Class of 2026 (6th Grade).

Day one (Saturday Aug 31) of the camp began with some warmups followed by a few drills. Warmups included getting into a proper defensive stance, and simulating a jumper without the ball.

The first drill focused on preparing players to move without the ball by sprinting to the elbow and stepping into their shot off a pass from a teammate.

A second drill focused on getting players to use a proper shot fake in order to get the defender off balance, then taking a couple hard dribbles to step into an open shot.
