The grassroots season here in Michigan was certainly an exciting one. There were familiar faces confirming their prep greatness, as well as athletes moving up and putting themselves in the mix.

The Michigan class of 2021 had some players that really stood out at all levels during the spring and summer. Here is our class of 2021 Grassroots Player of the Year and Honorable Mentions:

This could have gone to a number of different players in the class of 2021, but Wiggins was truly special this summer. Her performance garnered a number of high major Division 1 offers including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Purdue, and Virginia Tech. Wiggins consistently hit from behind the arc or attacked the basket and picked up the and 1. She was dynamic in the open floor all grassroots season. It has always been known that Wiggins is elite offensively, but this summer she showed that she can be counted on as a lockdown defender as well.
