Nakeeya McCardellThe key returning players are seniors Nakeeya McCardell and Trinity Curry. McCardell is a 5’5 guard that was the teams second leading scorer and one of the fastest players in the state and she makes things happen and her all around athleticism speaks volumes as she’s heading to Oregon on a Lacrosse scholarship. Curry is long, athletic and has continued to progress over the years after I saw her in middle school but at 6’5 and one of the Top 100 I have listed or the 2020 class, her dominance on defense was a key reason for their state run last season. She’s alters and blocks shots, her timing has a lot to do with that as well as her length and she rebounds well.
December Stevenson Kolby Davis2021 December Stevenson’s game took a jump last season, she’s another young lady I’ve had the pleasure of watching even before middle school and she continues to add by not only scoring in the paint but facing the basket as well. A solid group of sophomores, Kolby Davis, Jazmyn Williams, Cacie Chapman and Olivia Sullivan have all turned corners over the past season. Davis can be overpowering, either by punishing defenders attacking or defending but that outside shot gives her options as she can create and hit it it consistently. Williams’s athleticism and length have always been intriguing, she is alert and plays the passing lane well while Chapman and Sullivan both have shown they understand how to put the ball in the basket
