Recently I had the chance to spend some time in Texas at the Rise Combine by Skills Pay Bills at Desoto High School. The camp featured other scouts and recruiters such as Jason Key with Premier Basketball, Keith Russel with Texas Truth Basketball Report and I to represent Prep Girls Hoops Texas.

Close to 30 players in the group of campers which consisted of Class of 2020 to the Class of 2024 members largely with many girls from the Class of 2022 to the Class of 2023 players. There were many recognizable faces from programs in Texas such as Team Lex, DFW Elite and Pro-Skills to name a few. On the other hand, one lone player to represent Oklahoma girls, Micah Gray, in which she performed giving behind-the-back passes and difficult finishes.

Interestingly enough, I joined in on the Rise Combine as one of the skills trainers for the camp. Therefore, I had the opportunity to personally test their skill level and assess attitudes towards coaching considering majority of the girls had never been instructed by me before.
