New Scholarship Offers:
Breckinridge County Senior Natalee Tabor was offered by Thomas More last week. Tabor has been an increasingly popular name with college coaches as she now has nearly half a dozen offers.
One of Kentucky’s most popular prospect, Taziah Jenks of Mercy added a new offer from Texas Tech last Wednesday. Jenks is our highest ranked available Senior.
Whitney Lind started varsity as an 8th grader at Cooper last season and has been well traveled this spring and summer to elite camps all over the area. On Sunday, she was offered her first scholarship from The University of Charleston. She becomes (I believe) the first 2023 in Kentucky with an offer.
Ludlow’s Abby Mahan received an offer from Thomas More on Tuesday. Mahan is lesser known because she plays at a smaller school but she should be more well known. Abby has scored over 1,000 points already in her career and was the NKAC D3 Player of the Year as a Junior.
Thoams More also offered Simon Kenton’s Maggie Jones. Thomas More joins Kentucky Christian and Oakland City University on her offer list. Look for her to attract more offers this season.
New 2020 Commitments:
Assumption’s Payton Cronen committed to Newberry College over last weekend. Cronen is Assumption’s leading returning scorer and one of the state’s best shooters at 39% last year. Cronen chose Newberry over Georgetown College and Pikeville.
Campbellsville got a commitment from Cronen’s high school teammate Maddie Nalley. Nalley averaged 7 points per contest last season and led the team in rebounding at just under 6 boards per contest. She chose the Lady Tigers over offers from IU-Southeast and Georgetown College.
Transfer News:
Scott County’s School Board opted to make their district open enrollment this year as Great Crossing opens it doors for the first time next week. As a result, 2022 Timothi Williams has made the move to Great Crossing from Scott County. It does hurt the Lady Cards a little but they should still be the favorites in the 11th region.
South Laurel was already loaded and they got better as Rachel Presley, formerly of Somerset, has made her way to London to join a top 5 contender for this year’s State Championship. As a freshman, Presley led Somerset in both scoring and rebounding at 12.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
