Rudder one of favorites at Aggieland Classic December 26-28

Continue ReadingI can’t tell you the last Aggieland Classic I attended, it was probably during the span from 2007-2011 when my daughter played for Texas A&M because I normally hit the “can’t miss” events around Dallas area, the Sandra Meadows Classic and Mansfield Rotary aka Spring Creek something but I had to go and see Alexys Grice (College Station), Darby Hurley (A&M Consolidated) and Treece Daily (Mexia) close out their careers. Those three started with TWELVE and I remember watching them in elementary school in fact an 8 year old Grice was a ball girl for the Aggies during my daughter’s years and she will explode at Frank Phillips. Hurley( Texas A&M) and Daily (Prairie View A&M) decided to go the academic route, both had offers on the table to play college ball but chose a different route
Mariya Scott and Keaundra KellyRudder will be one of the favorites, I expect College Station and A&M Consolidated to be in the mix as well as out of town teams like Ridgepoint. featuring Raven Adams, one of the top 2021 guards in the state, if I didn’t mention your school it’s because I don’t have a list of everyone attending so I’ll close out the three tournaments December 26th-28th with this one, opening with Sandra Meadows Classic and sandwiching Spring Creek BBQ Invitational in between, no pun intended. Mariya Scott (A&M Consolidated) is among my 2020 Top 100 players and I caught Kionce Woods (Greenhill) and added her into the mix for that class as well. Greenhill is a small school but I always tell you what, talent is everywhere, if you know what you’re looking at and I can’t say this was my first sighting of Kajah Phillips (Diboll) one of MY Top 100 in the 2021 class, she’s 6’2 and OMG !!!!
How good is Rudder? I just added Tianna Mathis to the Top 100 for the 2021 class, Kelly continues to make strides and with her size and body, as well as strength, she has caught the eyes of many college coaches, Deondra Young is a serviceable 6’2 post that can score in the paint, how about cousins Rakia Lee and Bryanna Turner in the back-court as well as long ball threat Cameron Richards. One thing I know is that I was there last season to see them knock off #1 state ranked Hendrickson in the tournament so with this returning nucleus, they definitely are a team that will make some noise
Noise will be made made from College Station and A&M Consolidated and I’ll come back to those squads after seeing where everyone lands and by that I mean incoming freshmen, transfers, etc but I’m calling this an after Christmas trifecta of talent and to say I can’t wait would be an understatement
