Kelly is a combo guard in the class of 2021 and attends Three Rivers High School. Kelly is an excellent student with a high basketball upside. She’s the type of student-athlete that coaches at the next level will want to get to know. We recently caught up with Rylie Kelly to talk about her improvement, her goals, and more.
Question:
What area have you improved the most this summer?
Rylie Kelly:
I’ve improved greatly on defense and I feel like I am a lot stronger.
Question:
How did you go about improving your game?
Rylie Kelly:
I improved my strength and my vertical through Baker Strength and Conditioning with Aaron Baker in Schoolcraft and I’ve learned a lot through practices.
Question:
What will you be doing until high school season to prepare?
Rylie Kelly:
I will be trying to improve my game before the season by getting into the gym as much as possible. And trying to get shots up as much as I can at open gyms and working with a new trainer.
Question:
What are your personal goals for the coming high school season?
Rylie Kelly:
Personal goal: To be all conference and get an academic-athletic award.
Question:
What is one goal you think your team should have?
Rylie Kelly:
Team goal: To put in the work to win districts because we fell short in the championship last year.
Question:
Who’s your favorite professional player?
Rylie Kelly:
Steph curry….my biggest idol is Skylar Diggins.
Question:
Who is your favorite high school player to play with?
Rylie Kelly:
I love playing with all the girls on my team.
Question:
Is there a class that youre looking forward to taking next school year?
Rylie Kelly:
College psychology.
Question:
What are your long term goals off the court?
Rylie Kelly:
To go to a big university.
