Mia Davis – Copper State
She combined size and strength with speed and good passing. The offense ran through her in the post, where she could turn around and shoot or make passes to the outside. On defense, she made it difficult to pass anywhere in her vicinity, using her long arms to poke balls free for steals.
Mary Elias – NWT
Her defense as part of the team’s system was fantastic, especially early-on in the game. Most of the time, she was near the hoop as a rim protector, and did as good of a job as anybody of slowing Davis down and making her kick it out to teammates to make an impact on the offensive end.
Ashiian Hunter – NWT
Hunter displayed some of the best dribbling skills in the game. She drove into the lane to kick the ball out for shot attempts. In a game that scoring was tough to come by, her ability to draw contact and shooting fouls was crucial for keeping this game close.
Aaliyah Garcia – Copper State
Garcia’s on-ball defense was a big factor in this contest, often taking whoever she was guarding out of the game almost entirely. On the other end, she was a good distributor, making effective passes into the post and hitting a few quality shots.
