2021 Preseason Rankings add firepower and depth
The thing about rankings is that it’s only someones opinion and I’m on the money about talent and the one thing that constantly keeps going over heads is that ” it’s not what you do it’s who yo do it against” and I’ve stated over and over I’ve seen players who have averaged 30, 40 and 50 ppg in HS that panned out in college. I’ve even seen the same thing from the “experts” on their Top 5 players that just didn’t show it to me on the court and neither at the next level . The great thing about hanging out at PassThaBall’s 1-45 Shootout was it gave me an even better look at talented players in the numerous all star games, 6, especially the last 4 as you had a majority of next level players going against each other
Those top three spots are locks, Jada Malone(Village School) just keeps amazing me by being able to not only play multiple positions at 6’4 but showing she can do it at the #BCS level. Cy Creek’s Rori Harmon and Kyndall Hunter, Hunter didn’t play in the event, are one of the best back-courts in this dimension, they would start for a number of college teams right now so now that we’ve established that lets talk about some of the the additions. Gia Adams (Jersey Village) continues to work on her game and exploded into Top 20 while Kate Valle (Memorial)at just a shade under “the magic number” of 6’0 showed unlimited range at the Summer Elite Championship, every game and also made a Top 20 debut. More recently, at the Fall Showcase, Alisa Knight (Cedar Park) and Adaora Nwokedi (Summer Creek) are two of the hardest working athletic guards that can also score in the state, that’s a mouthful and the truth
Jordyn NewsomeTell you what, a couple of players I knew that were good just took their games to a different level, Jordyn Newsome (Irving Macarthur) made a tremendous jump into the Top 10 and she joins Texas Top 2020 #1 and #2 Sarah Andrews and Hannah Gusters as the unofficial team to beat in 6A. How about Paige Bradley (Bishop Lynch) who just sneaks up on you and gets it done in the flow and the same can be said for that explosive scorer Ashlyn Jones (Klein Oak).
Ashlyn JonesAsia Broughton (Cy Ridge) and Alexis Babineaux (Westfield) are a couple of 6’0 players that caught my eye in elementary school playing posts and now they’re playing 3-5, go figure but it shows their work ethic and desire and with that being said, after catching Emari Sidney (Cy Springs) going completely off at the Bellaire Fall Shootout, there was no way she shouldn’t be on here. Power, size and was scoring at will but also just added was Heights Cyncere Roberts, a 5’7 G that think she’s over “the magic number” and the way she elevates combined with athleticism and body control, plus she’s a highlight waiting to happen and if I was better at videoing, could show you but she definitely will but here’s the link to the updated 2021 players, next update coming in December
