Continue ReadingIt has been a busy week or so in the recruiting world. There have been around 40 public commitments at the Division 1 level in the last 10 days around the country. Most of these have been in the 2020 class, but the 2021 class has seen some verbals as well. With contact being allowed for 2021’s as of September 1st and 2020’s taking official visits, we have quite a bit of news to update in the state of Washington as well.
Two recent commitments
2020 5’8 G Aaliyah Alexander has committed to Eastern Washington University as previously reported. 2021 PG Ashlyn Wallace became the first player in the updated 2021 Washington rankings to give a verbal commitment. The star point guard gave her pledge to the Idaho Vandals. Ashlyn had previously heard from nearly two dozen schools in the first couple days of the contact period for juniors.
A top 2020 Takes Two Officials
2020 6’4 P Dalayah Daniels has been busy taking her official visits and the Pac-12 has been the early hosts. UCLA was destination number one for the 5-star prospect and she most recently visited Cal-Berkeley. Each team regularly has players with similar builds and athleticism, so she could fit in, but she has 4 more schools that she is still considering at this time.
D1 Commits Take Their One Official
2020 5’9 PG Ellie Boni took her official visit to Colorado State, where she had already committed in July. 2020 5’11 G Jayda Noble also had an eventful visit at her future home in Seattle at the University of Washington. Both of these committed players should sign this Fall. 2020 6’2 F Jordyn Jenkins also took her second official visit to UW and I would not be too surprised if Noble was giving her best recruitment pitches along with the coaching staff.
Oklahoma Stops by Kentridge HS
Speaking of Jordyn Jenkins, the Sooners have made it clear that she is a top target. Oklahoma is in Jenkins’ top 5 and she took her first official visit to OU. Jenkins still has three more officials to take including USC, Cal and Duke. Her final visit will be October 18-20 at Duke. *Feature image
Kendyl Carson Will Take Visit
2020 5’11 G Kendyl Carson will take a visit to Utah State this week. Utah State is fresh off of another 2020 commit from their home state, but Kendyl will make her way from Alaksa (transferred from Prairie HS-WA).
