The more I saw, the higher they went on my list because I saw progression and so many players start on fire early yet that flame doesn’t get any hotter, I see things differently than most and I’m always right. I have three sets of doubles from the North Shore Fall League as I interact a little tennis in here and always remember, when I call it, game, set match !
Gracelynn AlvarezHeights
Gracelynn Alvarez (PG) and Tierra Simon (P) Alvarez made her first Tip Sheet in the 6th grade and opened up her high school career by dropping 40. Now that I have your attention, I should have had it way before now, her versatility on both ends will be a key factor on how far Heights will go. Her range is unlimited, great body control and passes on the money. Can’t say I dropped anything early on Tierra but she entered with a bang as her power and athleticism enables her to punish on both ends.Strong rebounder and finisher, plays defense inside the paint and the perimeter but she and Alvarez also play club ball together and be it the pick and roll, which is very effective or just knowing where each other will be, they will have Heights in the mix and they are among my Top 100 TX 2021 players
Bre’Yon White defending Tierra SimonShadow Creek
I waited forever to hear the announcer say starting at guard, freshman R’Mani Taylor because I saw her DRIBBLING the ball as a 4th grader and right then, I said she was a D1 LOCK, okay she was going to the 5th, it was June but I was right and she is one of the top sophomores in the state. The thing I loved about her game was that she was poised and under control and I knew everything else would fall into place, it’s a gift yet her gifts exceed mine as her range is sometimes from another time zone, she runs a team with precision and she and Bre’Yon White both have shown they can take over games when needed, White had just moved her from home, that’s Louisiana so a little nepotism never hurts but it was never needed because I had to know who she was. Size and strength was there as well as mindset but she is in charge, be it the long ball, attacking or just the pull-up, her Top 100 TX 2021 spot is overly secured
Kyndall Hunter and Rori HarmonCy Creek
If I wore a hat, I would have taken it off for 5th graders Rori Harmon and Kyndall Hunter as I called them both D1 Locks back then and before they played their first middle school game, I said you can throw away the key. They kept progressing and were BCS LOCKS before high school and I know novices and haters are wondering, how can he say that, well they lead their team to state as freshmen. Get ready for another run, they are one of the top back-courts in the nation and a couple of the top juniors as well, in the NATION, I don’t have to see the others across the world, remember, been there done that and these young ladies both can drop 20-30 at any moment, yes they are that good. Side note, Hunter was out during the fall league and Harmon facilitated more however she did show who ]and what she was numerous times, a BEAST
