Geonna “GiGi” WaddellCy Creek, featuring one of the best back-courts in the country in Rori Harmon and Kyndall Hunter, and Summer Creek represented Region 3 in the state semifinals the past two seasons respectively, College Station made an impressive run in Region 3 5A last season and I’m thinking Cedar Park just might be one of the teams to beat with Nicole Leff, Texas State commit, and Hannah Wheeler, Incarnate Word commit, not to mention one of the top incoming freshmen in the state, Gisella Maul
Nicole LeffIt’s early and I can’t wait for the action to begin, I’ve seen Heights multiple times, Gracelynn Alvarez, Tierra Simon and Cyncere Roberts are three of the top 2021 players in the state and if they stay healthy, who knows. Clear Springs has Jermia Green, she’s among the top 2021 players in Texas as well as sharpshooter Kenna Gibson, and the team always brings it. The new look Manvel squad, led by Jordyn Marshall, is quite exciting so I’ll have plenty of action coming your way from the event. Hastings, with ultra athletic 2021 Da’Necia Trusty, Langham Creek and Westside all could be sleepers, who knows, I’ll be wide awake for the action tomorrow. Langham Creek lost a lot but when you have “shoot the lights out” Kaley Perkins, 6’1 G and Saija Cleveland, both among the top 2021 and 2022 players in the country, anything can happen. Westside always has a surprise or two, I know a couple of talented freshmen twins are coming in, as well as 2020 Fatou Samb, 6’5 one of the top posts in the country
