Jordyn Newome & Trinty GarrettJordyn Newsome-G- put on one of the best individual scoring performances at the event as she was dropping everything from fade-away 25 footers to attacking the basket relentlessly but I’m accustomed to seeing her in action with her Higher Goals club team and I’ll be catching her with that star studded Irving MacArthur squad during the Christmas holidays. She was the MVP for the game, I knew that as I was leaving during halftime because she had shown just about everything
Trinity Garrett-G- in a game filled with explosive guards, she certainly solidified her Top 100 ranking in so many ways. She brought heat on defense, scored in the flow and was just consistent on both ends of the court. When you can do the little things that don’t show up in the box score that mean so much, that’s big, wait, that’s huge and the way she creates under pressure, effortlessly is even huger
Bria McClure-G- joining her San Antonio Finest teammate Garrett in the back-court on occasion was special but McClure is a highlight waiting to happen and one thing I have always admired about her is that she always brings “it” no matter what the situation. She can score in droves but if she isn’t, she can play lock down defense and when you’re able to find ways to help your squad, no matter what, that’s huge
Alexis Babineaux and Alyssa BonillaAlexis Babineaux-F- she’s going to be added to the Top 100 group, I haven’t hit the halfway mark yet so she’s in that mix but she’s been in the mix since elementary school. What I like is that she’s expanded her game from a back to the basket player to one that can not only face the basket and hit the outside shot but defend on the outside as well as inside. She’s strong and does a good job on the boards, on both ends
Alyssa Bonilla-G- if there ever was a basketball poster that had #sizedontmatter, maybe I’ll do a meme, her picture would be one of the faces on it because she can flat out play and that’s the important part. She’s heady, that means BB-IQ, she understands how run a team, that means control tempo and get others involved and she can score multiple ways and that means just that. Watching her thread the needle or handling the ball under pressure is something to see
