While Madeline Westbeld (6-2 Kettering Fairmont) continues to distance herself at the top of the 2020 rankings, we already looked at some of the kids who have risen in the Top 25 from their position back in the spring.
Today, we will look at a few of the players who enter the Honorable Mention after being unranked.
Maddie Antenucci (Cincinnati Indian Hill)- excellent in transition, good handles on the break and can hit the perimeter shot consistently. Good pull-up shot, and does a great job getting by her defender and slashing to the rim. Can finish with either hand around the basket, and not afraid of contact. Has range out beyond the arc. Maddie (pictured above, photo by Cincinnati.com) sees the floor well, and finds the open player for a better shot. Defensively, can create and cause turnovers, and capitalizes on them.
Kendal Clodfelter (Tippecanoe)- her game has grown from this point last season, as she heads into her senior year. Already with Division 2 offers, Clodfelter looks to continue to add to her game. She is a savvy floor leader who can run the transition game well with good speed and quickness. Can push the ball north-south and finish off the play. Kendal can get to the rim and score, creates a shot for herself or her teammate well. Excellent passer. Has good range out to the three and can defend. HAs quick hands and gets steals which leads to easy baskets.
Megan Jurosic (New Knoxville)- Excellent rebounder and at 6-foot, Megan is a strong physical force in the paint. Excellent body control around the basket, good footwork and solid face-up player. Finishes well with either hand at the rim. Can put the ball on the floor and score on the drive. Also seals off her defender well at the rim. Catches in traffic, can turn and score on the defender. Has some range. Quality all-around player.
Marissa Meiring (Fort Loramie)- the leader of a very talented Redskins team, Marissa is a strong, physical player who can score down low, using her body to create a problem for opposing defenders. Very good around the boards, finishes well with both hands and is a strong rebounder. Can step out and score away from the basket. Sees the floor well, and can get her teammates a good shot. Fort Loramie will be very talented again this year, and it starts with Meiring.
