The staff of Prep Girls Hoops Ohio has collaborated to work hard on producing the most accurate rankings possible, and after conversations with some key people around Ohio, we feel like the upcoming rankings show a true picture of the talent in the Buckeye state.
This will be our first update since the website has gone live in Ohio back in the spring. The initial rankings were a good start, but after watching a summer filled with quality high school camps and shootouts, along with plenty of travel tournaments, there have been some shakeups in the rankings.
There will be some new faces on the list, and a lot of players have seen their stock rise. We have changed up the rankings a bit, and will be listing the top 25 players in each of the classes 2020, 2021 and 2022. For the incoming freshman, we have put together a watch-list similar to the spring, an alphabetical list of players since none of the kids have stepped foot onto the high school floor for an official game.
The 2020 rankings will be released tomorrow (Friday, 9/6) and each class will get their own day to shine. The remainder of the release dates will be: 9/9- Class of 2021, 9/11- Class of 2022 and 9/13 Class of 2023.
Throughout the month of September, the PGH Ohio staff will be writing stories to focus on some of the kids who have risen in the rankings, or have entered into the rankings for the very first time. We will also take a look at some of the young faces, the 2023 kids who hope to shine on the court as freshmen.
We are only seven weeks from the first day of practice of the girls high school basketball season in Ohio. It definitely should be a fun and interesting season!
