Hopefully we can get those posted next week. In the mean time, here are some players who have found their way on to the radar for that 2022 ranking update.
Jaileyah Cotton, Bardstown – While JJ Traynor has brought a ton of D1 Men’s coaches to Bardstown lately, Cotton could be the next Bardstown athlete to start getting D1 coaches to Tiger Gym. As a freshman, Jaileyah averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds per game and those numbers are only going to keep going up over the next few seasons.
Alyssa Elswick, Shelby Valley – Elswick put up numbers similar to Cotton as a Freshman. She led Shelby Valley in scoring and rebounding with 14.7 points and 6 rebounds per contest. Alyssa and fellow Sophomore Cassidy Rowe are quite a formidable duo. Looking forward to seeing them together again when Rowe returns this season.
Isabel Grimes, Breckinridge County – Senior Natalee Tabor has been a popular name with college coaches lately but it was actually Grimes who was the star in her Freshman season. Isabel averaged 14 points and 3 rebounds per game last year and will be looking to lead Breck to Rupp Arena this season after losing in the Region Semifinals last season.
Rachel Presley, South Laurel – Recently arrived from Somerset, Presley joins a loaded team at South Laurel. She can provide a big time interior force to go along with the perimeter firepower that Coach Souder’s team returns. As a Somerset freshman, Rachel averaged team highs in points and rebounds and makes South Laurel even more dangerous this season.
Allie Stone, West Carter – Say what you want about some of the absurd scoring numbers that come out of the mountains but Allie Stone would be a big time scorer regardless of where she played her high school ball. As a freshman, she averaged over 20 points per game with even more impressive shooting splits of 53/42/82.
