Brooklynn Miles, Franklin County – Brooklynn moves to the number one spot in our latest update. She scores the ball extremely well against high school competition but shuts down opposing guards while playing up a level on the girls EYBL. Miles can do it all and she is rewarded by ascending to the top spot in the class.
Mya Meredith, Scott – Mya is a prolific scorer and a really good athlete. Like Miles, she played up an age group on the 17u level of the EYBL this season but nothing slowed her down. Meredith is right there with Miles as top player in the class and could have higher upside as a prospect because she’s taller and more athletic.
Macey Blevins, Wayne County – Blevins quietly had a tremendous summer, adding several D1 scholarship offers. More than just a shooter, Macey is able to score the ball at all three levels and is comfortable playing with the ball in her hands. She has put herself in discussion as a potential high major shooting guard.
Harley Paynter, Boyd County – Another big time scoring guard, Paynter should have a huge scoring season as she picks up the production lost when Savannah Wheeler graduated. Harley has been known as a shooter but this season she will see double teams or worse and will be more likely to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim.
Marissa Gasaway, Eastern – Gasaway slid a little in the update but she’s still a really good prospect and athlete whose best basketball lies ahead of her. Marissa should be among the best players in Louisville this season and rack up scholarship offers over the course of the next two seasons.
Jacqueline Jackson, Greenwood – Jackson is on the short list of most valuable players in Western Kentucky. After averaging 15 points per game as a Sophomore, Jacqueline is going to have to score even more this season to get the Lady Gators back above .500 and a contender in the 4th region.
Tiarra East, Butler – Tiarra had a big summer when she added two D1 offers to her list. She also should have a breakout season for Butler after their two leading scorers graduated in May. If East can reach her potential, Butler will be a threat to win the 6th region yet again.
Elise Ellison-Coons – Elise is likely to be the best player in Lexington this season and returns for her Junior year at Dunbar after averaging a double double as a Sophomore at 17 points and 10 rebounds per game. She also had a strong summer with a dominant West Virginia Thunder AAU team.
Hayley Caudill, Hazard – One of the best returning players in the 14th region this season, Caudill plays the game fearlessly and with a high IQ. She’s an excellent scorer but does more than that to affect the game as she is a good passer and a better rebounder than she gets credit for.
Marie Kiefer, Bishop Brossart – After averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game as a Sophomore, Kiefer was promoted to the Kentucky Premier EYBL team and had a big summer playing up for the 17u team with Miles, Meredith and Blevins. Look for Marie to be among the best players in Northern Kentucky this season.
