Here are the Top Performers.
Bella Weary, 5’7 Combo Guard C/O 2021, Bartram Trail
Weary was unstoppable! She had the ability to create opportunities for herself and for her teammates. She was lights out from the three and could knock it down for any spot on the court. Weary was either scoring for her team or making the assist to her teammates. Defensively she was very active and played the passing lanes well leading to multiple steals each game played. Weary is a guard that can flat out do it all!
Keegan Brace 5’7 Point Guard C/O 2021, Lake Howell High School
Brace is an elite shooter with limitless range. She has crafty handles that were on display in every game. She broke defenders down with handles and quickness. She did a great job penetrating to the basket and dishing to her teammates. Brace attacked in transition and could finish with contact. She is a high level point guard that can score.
Leah Barnes, 5’11 Combo Guard C/O 2024, Carrollwood Day
Barnes was definitely the most talented middle school student-athlete in the building! Offensively she can do it all. Her handles were elite, she had the ability to drive with ease and could finish with contact. She can knock down the three or pull up off the dribble. In addition to her offensive skills, she dominated the boards in every game she played and was an aggressive defender. Barnes is definitely a player to have on your radar! This kid can flat out play!
Zaida Gonzalez 5’9 Guard C/O 2021, Palm Beach Lakes High School
Gonzalez put on a shooting clinic at the event! She is a pure shooter with the ability to handle the ball. She was relentless at the event. Gonzalez appeared to have injured her ankle and sat out briefly before returning to the game and literally went 100% from the field, she did not miss! She is a versatile guard with a high motor and a drive to compete on both ends.
Katie Ambrose 5’7 Point Guard C/O 2022, Gulf Coast High School
Ambrose displayed her ability to knock down the three early in the event. She read the defense well and was able to facilitate the ball for her team. She was able to penetrate to the basket at will. Ambrose was feisty on defense and was able to come up with steals that led to points on the other end. She is a talented point guard that could play on either side of the ball.
