There is a lot of anticipation for this season with so many high level prospects and teams ready to show what they have been working towards for a very long time. The 2020 class will have their final go around and I have put together a list of just some of the players I believe will have strong senior seasons.
2020 Breakout Players:
2020 5’9 G Nakia Boston (Lynwood HS) – Nakia is a fairly well-known player and has consistently put up solid stats in high school, but I believe this is the year she really shows people what she is capable of. Nakia has a good court presence and plays the team game, but there may be times where she has to take over games and she should be ready for that as a senior leader. Nakia remains available as far as recruitment goes, but she has had the attention of some Division 1’s. Wherever she ends up, some college is going to get a player that is trending upwards.
2020 6’2 C Ramona Jagger (Decatur HS) – Ramona had a solid junior season, making second team all league with averages of 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks per game. For her senior year, Ramona should be on track to lift her scoring average and get her rebounds to double digits as her skills have progressed over the last year. She has a great motor and brings leadership to the floor. Colleges in need of an energy giver should give Ramona a look.
2020 5’5 G Emma Main (Mt. Spokane HS) – Emma had some really bright moments last season and made some really big shots for the Wildcats on many occasions. Emma has great footwork and a crafty way of getting her shot off versus larger opponents. She is a knockdown three point shooter and sees the floor pretty well. She should get the attention of some small colleges after a solid spring and summer with the Spokane Stars and a breakout senior year for Mt. Spokane.
2020 5’5 G Mason Oberg (Union HS) – Mason had a strong junior season, but I think she steps it up to another notch for her final high school season. She has a strong handle and can really knock down shots. She is a deadeye free throw shooter and does a good job of drawing fouls as well. Fresh off of a Western Washington offer, Mason will keep the momentum rolling into her final year. *Feature image
