Today, we will go over the new top 5 forwards from each class! Some classes will see significant changes, while some will see very little movement at the top.
#1 Marisa Davis-Jones 6’1 2021 F Valley Vista
MDJ has a world of potential, athleticism, and versatility. I think that MDJ will be a very unique 3 in college. She has proven that she can shoot the 3 ball, she can get to the rim and score, and has a post game. Defensively, she’s one of the best on ball defenders in state, she has speed, quickness, and bounce. Scary thing is how much she has upped her game from last season til now! The kids only getting better!
#2 Alyssa Brown 6’1 2021 F Sahuaro
Brown is a very polished player already. I think she really came into her own very early and that has helped her be such a dominant big. She is mobile and has shown time and time again that she can knock down the mid-range jumper. She is super aggressive and attacks the basket hard.
#3 Bridget Mullings 6’2 2021 F Greenway
Mullings has really improved her game, especially offensively. She has always been a good defender and one of the best, if not the best, rebounder in the class. She always lacked an offensive game, in my opinion. However, she has put the work in and is now more than serviceable offensively. Really excited to see how much Mullings can progress this season.
#4 Samara Curry 5’11 2021 G/F Hamilton
Curry will be a very good college 3. She is really long and has solid speed. She is super aggressive in pursuit of the cup and can shoot the mid-range or 3 ball. Defensively, her long arms and quick feet help her shut down her opponents. I think she is a really good shot blocker as well. The only thing lacking in her game is ball handling. I think there’s definitely room to improve in that area, but at the 3 spot she may not need it that much.
#5 Sahra Genc 6’3 2021 F Bella Vista
Sahra Genc is a player that you will surely know by the end of the season. She has a ton of size and I think she has the most potential to rise up our rankings out of all the players we have ranked in 2021. I can see the potential of what she could be and what she could be is scary!
