Tamesha Dozier, Butler – Dozier saw limited playing time as a Freshman but should have much more opportunity this season. She has great positional size and showed an ability to finish around the rim as she shot 46% from the field last season. Look for that number and her rebounds per game to increase in her Sophomore year.
Kennedy Lee, Manual – Lee played in every game last season for Manual and should see a significant increase in her points and rebounds per game this season after averaging 4 points and 5 boards per game last season. If she can improve her shooting percentages, Kennedy could be looking at a breakout year on the offensive end.
Emma Egan, Bullitt East – An excellent shooter at the guard/wing position, Emma should see even more shots come her way as she embarks on her Sophomore campaign. After making 44% of her shots last season, her production can go way up if Egan becomes a better three point shooter after struggling from outside last season.
Lauren Thomas, Henry Clay – Thomas played a limited role for the Blue Devils last year but should see a much bigger role as a Sophomore after multiple players transferred out of Henry Clay this offseason. Keep an eye on Thomas to establish herself as a top Sophomore in Lexington.
Sereniti Webb, Simon Kenton – Webb is poised for a breakout season. Alongside Senior Morgan Stamper, Simon Kenton has potentially the best frontline in the 8th region and will be among the favorites to win and get to Rupp in March. Sereniti can go a long way in her development if she can be a more efficient scorer than her 39% from the floor last season.
Josie Gilvin, Sacred Heart – Josie is part of one of the preseason favorites to win the state championship. After averaging over 6 points per game last season, her averages should improve with the return of Erin Toller to the Valkyrie lineup. Assuming she improves her 25% three point shooting from a season ago, Gilvin should be a top Sophomore in Louisville.
