Dayton Carroll
They advanced all the way to the state finals last season before falling short of a title. The good thing for them…they return a lot of key players from that team after losing one big contributor Liz Bush. Back for the Patriots will be a lot of talent, as they should be very deep again this season. Seniors Julia Keller Julia Keller 6'0" | PF Dayton Carroll High School | 2020 OH and Allie Stefanek Allie Stefanek 5'7" | CG Dayton Carroll High School | 2020 OH lead the way for the Pats, as Keller will control the paint and Stefanek will deal with the perimeter. Megan Leraas and Ava Lickliter highlight the junior class, as both had a productive summer. Sophomores Charlotte Ruble and Sarah Ochs Sarah Ochs 5'5" | CG Dayton Carroll | 2022 State OH will be key sophomores. This team is loaded.
Jonathan Alder
The favorites this season in the CBC Kenton Trail Division, as they return the two top seniors in the league. Senior Abby Jones Abby Jones 5'10" | SF Jonathan Alder High School | 2020 OH is a solid wing with good range and can get to the rim. Senior point guard Sydney Borquin Sydney Borquin 5'8" | CG Jonathan Alder High School | 2020 OH also returns and has great floor leadership. Both are expected to play at the next level. Senior Melissa Walbom is back and averaged double figures last season along with Jones and Borquin. Another senior Sydnie Bushong returns to be an important leader for this team. I really liked Mary Ferrito last season as a freshman, and she will just get better.
Tippecanoe
The favorites in the new Miami Valley League, Tipp is back with senior Kendall Clodfelter Kendall Clodfelter 5'8" | CG Tippecanoe High School | 2020 OH who is a 5-foot-9 wing who can score and defend, while other seniors Katie Salyer and Olivia Newbourn will contribute. Junior Ashleigh Mader Ashleigh Mader 6'0" | CG Tippecanoe | 2021 State OH also is back and is a complete player with good range and can get to the rim. Katie Hemmelgarn and Rachel Wildermuth are both solid junior post players will be key to the Tipp success. Tipp opens the season with a massive challenge against Beavercreek as they look to keep their winning tradition going this season.
Trotwood Madison
This will be their final season in the GWOC, and the Rams look to utilize some key experience back, along with some talented younger players. Senior Heaven Gooden is experienced and looks to be a leader this season, while another key senior will be Goddess McIntyre. Junior Quantaijah Huffman Quantaijah Huffman 5'8" | PG Trotwood Madison | 2021 State OH is likely their most talented player as she can score and pressure her opponent on the defensive end. Incoming freshman Raeven Rae Redmond could be very special this year as a newcomer for the Rams.
Valley View
Coming off a great season last year, the Spartans will return the nucleus of their regional semifinal team. Gone is Chloe Smith, the very talented guard now at Urbana University. Who they have back is very concerning for their opponents. Senior Aubrey Stupp Aubrey Stupp 6'0" | CG Valley View High School | 2020 OH , a D1 commit, can do it all, and is ready for a great senior season. They also have a plethora of talented juniors including point guard Abigail Dickson, a great floor leader and junior Lauren Legate, a great perimeter wing who can defend the guard or the post. Key sophomore Claire Henson Claire Henson 5'11" | PF Valley View | 2022 State OH just keeps getting better, and they could also have some freshman pushing for a chance.
