Continue ReadingWe released the 2021 California Rankings this morning and it should be a good conversation piece, remember, we at PGH California will only rank girls we have seen, that means the committee members around California have put eyes on these girls and have actually seen them play. Does nothing for us to put a girl on the list that none of us have seen. With that being said, lets take a good look at the rankings and see if we are on the money or just plain missed the bus on some of these kids, I believe we are spot on with the majority of the kids we have seen play. Opinion of kids really plays a role in everyone’s decision making and also when you have a dog in the race. Enjoy these opinions and go with it, it will be changing again by February or March after the season is over. Get your stock up and keep working hard, we are out there watching very closely. Again, thanks for the support of PGHCalfornia.
#1 Overall – 2021, 6’4, PF/C, Harvard Westlake HS, KiKi Iriafen – Dominant post presence that is capable of scoring double-doubles each and every night. Mismatch in the paint and knows how to finish or throw out of the double team. She is skilled with the left and right hand with some solid footwork in the paint. She is a threat to score with each touch. Averaged 20pts and 13rpg for the season in high school.
#6 Overall – 2021, 5’6, PG, Corona Centennial HS, Jayda Curry is very exciting to watch as a player and as a dynamic scorer on the floor. She keeps you in suspense, she can handle it, she can pass it, she can shoot from about 26 feet and she is a very willing defender. Jayda skill set is very good, she can finish at the rim with both hands and can get you in foul trouble by finishing thru contact on the drive. She holds an offer from SDSU. #13 Overall – 2021, 6’6, C, Troy HS, Endigo Parker is a young developing big, but she is the only 6’6 in California right now. She has soft hands, runs the floor like a gazelle and is conditioned to play about 26 minutes of a 32 minute game, which is exceptional for a big of her size. She has good footwork under the rim, feels her defenders on her back and make the right decisions. She recognizes the double-team, she immediately finds the open shooter and is averaging 3 blocks per game for her high school. Her Club team stats are as followed: 8ppg, 10rpg and 4blpg on the UAA circuit. She received her first offer from Eastern Kentucky and has major interest from Oklahoma State, Boise St., NAU, Santa Clara, UMass and NC State. Endigo is a long lanky player with natural skill to score around the basket, block shots and rebound the basketball.
#16 Overall – 2021, 5’7, SG, Mater Dei HS, Alyssa Frescas is a bonefide shooter, meaning she is a dead-eye shot from deep every time I watched her play. She knocked down 3-pointers from about 26 feet out in a row. She made shots even when they tried to run her off the three point line, she was threat to score everytime she got the ball. Now, I was a bit concerned with her handle, she has to improve at that skill, because at the next level she will probably have to run some PG. She holds offers from George Washington, UCIrvine and UNMexico. Alyssa Frescas State with WCP – Click Here
