Records going into week 5 have been interesting and also a little surprising. Riverdale Baptist, Oxon Hill, Bishop Ireton, Fredrick Douglass and New Hope Academy (JV) are the only undefeated teams remaining, while New Hope Academy’s varsity team North Point and Hayfield only have one loss. The host team Gwynn Park along with Potomac and a scrappy Osbourne Park have yet to win a game.

Standouts of the Game:
Reniya Jones – Bishop Ireton – 2021
Reniya JonesReniya was the difference maker in this game. She scored 12 points and was the most dominant player in the game. Her speed was too much for anyone on the court to stay in front of her as she was consistently able to get to the rim.
Jayden Cook – Bishop Ireton – 2023
Jayden CookeJayden scored six points in the second half all in the closing minutes. She was solid on the boards and had back to back go ahead rebound put backs to decide the game.
Jadyn Brown – 6’1” – Wing – Riverdale Baptist
Jadyn BrownJadyn is coming into her own and looked like she will eventually emerge as the leader on this team. Her size at on the perimeter was a mismatch for everyone on the court. She had 8 points including a big 3 pointer in the first half to start the big run. She will certainly be huge in the Crusaders success this season.
Synia Johnson – 5’8” Guard – Riverdale Baptist
Synia JohnsonSynia was a terror on defense in the first half. She had four steal and all of her team high 9 points in the first half. Ireton sent multiple defenders at the ECU commit in the second half slowing her down a bit but she showed that she is one of the top all around players in the class and amongst the top defenders.
Olivia Brooks – 6’1” – Post – Bishop Ireton
Olivia BrooksOlivia is a force inside, she only had two points but that doesn’t show her impact in the game. She took up space in the entire lane making it difficult for anyone to get off a clean shot near the basket. She pulled down nearly every rebound in her area and
