Emme Rooney – 2022 – SF 5’8 – Silver Creek
This was my first look at Rooney and I was impressed. She stuck out right away with her motor and ability to dominate defensively. Her natural ability to facilitate the offense was on full display, as she distributed to teammates and moved the ball in transition. Rooney also managed to score very well at all three levels herself. Few players showed the IQ and intangibles that Rooney possesses.
Ellie Wilkerson – 2022 – SF 5’10 – Plainfield
Wilkerson killed it offensively. She shot the ball well off the dribble and was relentless attacking the rim. Her ability to be a three-level scorer while being a great passer makes her a nightmare for defenses. Wilkerson’s ability to knock down the three-ball stood out the most. She knocked down the outside shot off the catch and very well off the dribble.
Kenna Kirby – 2022 – SF 5’9 – Tri-West
Kirby’s IQ and ability to make the right decisions stood out right away. She made several great passes and got her teammates involved frequently. Her ability to get to the rim at her size makes her a tough matchup defensively. You could see Kirby’s intelligence defensively as she forced her defender into bad positions, creating turnovers and transition baskets.
Delaney Wolfe – 2022 – SG 5’7 – Martinsville
Wolfe’s shooting caught my eye quickly, as she knocked down several shots from three in the time I was able to see her. Her ability to move well without the ball is very mature for her age. She did a great job of finding ways to get open for shots, screening, cutting, and creating several shots off the dribble. Wolfe plays with a motor and passion you don’t normally see.
Kelsi Langley – 2022 – SF 5’10 – Taylor (Kokomo)
Langley’s creativity around the rim was impressive. She had several great dribble moves followed by beautiful finishes at the rim. Her ability to handle the ball at her size adds a ton of versatility to her game. Defensively Langley was a workhorse, constantly making her defender uncomfortable forcing several steals.
Riley Makalusky – 2023 – SF 5’11 – Hamilton Southeastern
It took a matter of minutes to realize Makalusky is a star in the making. She was one of the camps better scorers finding ways to put the ball in from all three levels. Her size and athleticism made her a matchup nightmare for her opponents. Makalusky’s hustle showed on the defensive end and the glass, as she had a ton off putback scores and steals. The ceiling for Makalusky’s career is going to be very high.
Julia Mantyla – 2022 – PF 5’10 – Northridge
Mantyla shot the ball well in the time I was able to see her. Her ability to run the floor and move without the ball stood out. She was rewarded with her movement, knocking down several shots from deep. Defensively she used her length to make life difficult for her opponents. Mantyla’s ability to deny her opponents in the post and block shocks made her a great two-way option for her team.
Kailyn Terrell – 2023 – SG 5’5 – Brownsburg
Terrell’s ability to fly down the court with the ball in her hands caught my attention quickly. Few players have the speed with the ball Terrell possesses and it showed in transition. She got to the rim with ease and finished in a variety of ways. Her ability to distribute was on full display, as she did a great job of getting her teammates involved.
Teresa Maggio – 2022 – PG 5’4 – McCutcheon
Maggio’s ball-handling ability was on full display. She got up and down the floor quickly getting several assists and creating opportunities for her teammates. Her ability to get to the rim and finish is impressive. Despite her size, Maggio was a force defensively. She had a ton of steals and managed to guard ball handlers very well. Her athleticism and skillset made her a headache for defenders.
Taylor Farris – 2023 – SF 5’9 – Northeastern
Farris’s shooting caught my eye quickly. She knocked down shots from all three levels. Excelling from beyond the arc knocking down multiple threes throughout the day. Her ability to run with the ball in transition was impressive. She did a great job of using her athleticism to get to the rim. Farris’s ability to do so much offensively for her age sets her apart.
