However, points alone don’t always tell the full story. This article is going to examine the efficiency with which players score those points, based on points per 32 minutes.
Morgan DeFoor, Scott County – DeFoor is a dynamic scorer. She has a great stroke from beyond the arc, the ability to drive to the basket, and can get out and score in transition. This all combined to allow her to score 22.1 points per 32 minutes, tops in the state among juniors last year.
Ellie Oldendick, Gallatin County – Finishing at the rim seemed to be the strongest point of Oldendick’s game last year, although she also showed an ability to score on multiple levels. She average 19.7 points per 32, a total which is especially impressive considering she played a strong 28.2 minutes per game.
Malea Williams, Scott County – Williams is a dominant presence in the post. She is able to score seemingly at will by overpowering and outplaying everyone else on the inside. This dominance is what led to Williams scoring 19.1 points per 32.
Hannah McKay, Owensboro Catholic – In what is becoming a theme with this list, McKay is a dynamic scorer on multiple levels. Her strong all-around game lets her score at the rim and from deep. This led to an average of 19.1 points per game, thanks to her nose for the ball and well-rounded talent.
Julia Parker, Ashland Blazer – Parker combined her efficiency with the most minutes of anyone on this list. She averaged 17.5 points per 32 minutes while playing 28.9 minutes per game. Maintaining this efficiency while playing the most minutes of anyone on this list makes Parker’s performance last year all the more impressive.
