Game Finals in Fall League:
Foley-38, Becker-35. Final in OT
Pequot Lakes-36, Holdingford-33
Becker-40, FM Fierce (AAU)- 38. Final in OT
Best Player on Sunday:
Adeline Kent, Guard, Becker (2022)
-Kent was the absolute best shooter in the entire gym on Sunday in Sauk Rapids. With four of her Becker starters out, she had to be the leader on the court for the Bulldogs and certainly put on a shooting clinic in the last game of the day.
Most Gritty Defender from Sunday:
Brooke Beier, Guard, Foley (2022)
-Stuck like glue, that was how Brooke Beier played defense today. Not the biggest player on the court by any means, but has a knack for in your face defense. It did not go unnoticed in their win over Becker today.
Other Strong Offensive Performers from Sunday:
Lola Rysavy, Center, Pequot Lakes (2020)
-With Olivia Lane graduated and playing at UND and her sister Erica transferring to Brainerd, Rysavy will need to lead the charge for the Patriots as she had a great low post presence and rebounding showing today in Sauk Rapids.
Addie Wagner, Fargo-Moorhead Fierce/Fargo South (2022)
-Wagner was very key in the Fierce’s near victory against Becker. Wagner is a solid point guard with a good shot and finds her teammates with ease in the assist column. Had a near game-winner at the end of the game, just a second off from getting a huge win for FM Fierce.
Aidan Hans, Fargo-Moorhead Fierce/Fargo North (2023)
-Hans is the youngest player on my list today but is a player with great potential with Fargo North this winter. Hans was a great inside presence for FM Fierce in the last game of the day and had just under 9 points. As a freshman, going up against a state runner up last year, look for her to get some key playing time for the Fargo North Spartans this year.
McKenna Gross, Guard, Foley (2021)
Gross’s long-distance three-pointers were key in sealing the victory over Becker today. Look for her outside shooting to continue to get better as Fall League continues and the Falcons regular season goes on.
Jayden Hermanson, Center, Foley (2021)
Hermanson was a solid inside presence for the Falcons today. Scored with ease down low and did well with getting her ball back after a miss with her rebounding ability.
Other Strong Defensive Performers from Sunday:
Danielle Lyon, Holdingford (2021)
Lyon is the 2nd best-returning scorer for the Huskers this year. What impressed me today was her physicality on defense and knack for not being afraid to take the hard foul or get on the deck for loose balls.
Aly Gruenes, Center, Becker (2020)
Gruenes impressed me for the Bulldogs defensively against Foley. A player that didn’t get many reps last season for the Bulldogs, she may work herself into the Becker rotation more frequently if she continues to play like this defensively.
