One KC metro area player that fits the position-less basketball style is Morgan Ferarra. The 5’11 Junior Combo Guard in the 2021 class, can do it all for her Staley Lady Falcons squad. The 2 time All-Conference and All- district guard put up solid numbers during her Sophomore year. Averaging 15 pts, 7 rebs, 2 ast, 2 stl, 2 blks while shooting 50% from the three-point line and 75% from the charity stripe.
Photo courtesy Joel WebbMorgan is an elite level shooter. Excelling in catch and shot situations and tough in the mid-range area. Her handles are solid and at her height allows her to be a match-up problem for opposing teams. Being able to handle on the break and finish everything through contact, makes Morgan a nightmare for smaller guards. Morgan’s size also allows here to see over the defense and make plays for her teammates. Great offensive IQ and feel for the game, allows Morgan to play free in transition and half-court sets.
“What sets Morgan apart from other players her size is her all-around basketball IQ and her ability to shoot the basketball. She has a quick release and when you combine that with her length, this allows her to get her shot off overall defenders.” Joel Webb Director KC Dream Basketball
Running with Joel Webb and his KC Dream Basketball AAU squad, Morgan has already developed into an elite talent. Her defense on the ball is solid. Where Morgan really shines is off the ball. Using her IQ to anticipate passes helps her get those easy transition buckets. She doesn’t take plays off and is a strong offensive rebounder.
“Morgan possesses the size, length, and strength of a major D1 athlete. Playing at the guard position at her size, Morgan is able to be more dominant on the defensive end. Offensively this allows her to absorb and play through contact.” Joel Webb Director KC Dream Basketball
With interest from UMKC, University of Denver, Radford University, Lipscomb University, UT-Martin, University of Central Arkansas, Columbia University, and Rochester University, Morgan will definitely be a welcomed addition to any women’s college basketball program.
