She currently holds offers from FAMU and College of Central Florida. East Carolina University, Jacksonville State, and the University of Florida are showing interest.
West talked about her Junior season at Oak Ridge High School. “My team was filled with talent and chemistry but we unfortunately fell short and was unable to win the state championship.” West told Prep Girls Hoops. In spite of the disappointment of not winning the state championship, West stated that she was grateful for the experience. She explained that she was able to reflect on her weaknesses so she can improve going forward.
During this past off season, West has been working on finishing with her right hand and sharpening her ball handling skills. During the summer West played on the Nike Circuit with the prestigious Essence’s program.
West and her family made the decision for her to attend Montverde Academy for her senior season. I asked what led her to making this decision and she responded, “That her and her family looked into the background history of academics and the success of the boy’s basketball program. I want to take on the challenge of making the girl’s basketball program as great as the boy’s.”
West is an all around talented player, that is looking to have a big senior year at Montverde Academy. She is definitely a player to have on your radar.
